BP West Nile Delta (GFR) (Partial Pipeline Design Scope)
Project Information
After successfully completing first part of BP West Nile Delta (Taurus-Libra) Project, we were invited to engineer the second part, Giza Fayoum and Raven, which was even more challenging, with tighter deadline. The field was adjacent to the Taurus-Libra field in approximately 600 m maximum water depth. In addition to the deep water, shallow shore approach design was another major challenge as a result of shifting seabed. The project involved design and engineering of production flowlines, gas export pipelines, MEG pipeline and vertical and horizontal rigid spools. The major challenge faced in this project was the design of the 6″ HPHT pipeline against upheaval buckling as a result very soft seabed. Another challenge was the design of the pipeline crossing the steep Rosetta Channel.
